ALL encourages its members to engage actively in debating proposals put out to national consultation.
One of our core missions as an association is to keep members and the language community informed. Therefore, ALL ran a webinar to consider the proposed Ofqual GCSE regulatory requirements on Thursday 7th April at 7.30pm, hosted by Jane Harvey (ALL Trustee).

In January 2022, DfE published the new GCSE French, German and Spanish subject content and Ofqual confirmed their decision to implement related assessment proposals. The new qualifications will be available for first teaching from September 2024, with first assessments in summer 2026.
The new Ofqual consultation (announced 22 March) is around how the previous decisions will be implemented, and what exam boards are required to do.

This Ofqual page has the relevant documents and when you scroll to the end , you can click on a likk to respond.   Here is the  direct link to the consultation

The consultation closes at 11.45pm on 19th April 2022 (the day after the Easter weekend).
During this webinar, Helen Myers (ALL) and David Blow (ASCL)  presented on the background to these proposals and the wider issues and  explored the proposals in more detail.  Those who attended made very helpful contributions which can be read in the chat.

ALL will draw threads together and share comments.

As this is such an important matter for the language community, this event was open to members and non-members.

Don’t forget to join ALL or renew your membership to ensure you have access to all the great member benefits.

Thank you.
