Free all-day Workshops Developing MFL in Primary Schools Tuesday 24th April 2007 Meet teachers, managers and pupils of the Dorking Family of Schools We are hosting a free presentation, discussion and demonstration day which will explain how we work collaboratively with primary and secondary schools in the Dorking area to enhance the teaching and learning of modern foreign languages at KS2. This is in accordance with the Specialist Schools Trusts aim to encourage networking; the event is also promoted by the London branch of ALL (Association for Language Learning). If there is sufficient interest, we will provide further days. There will be a seminar in the morning on Management, Pedagogy, Events and Resources. At lunchtime there will be an opportunity to meet a variety of teachers from the local schools (both primary and secondary), and there will be an opportunity for hands on use of ICT resources before going to visit primary schools in the afternoon. These sessions are intended for managers and language teachers, and may also interest consultants involved in promoting liaison between phases. We actively encourage attendance by groups of teachers from the same school e.g. language staff from clusters of primary and secondary schools + ICT staff + Senior staff, thereby allowing discussion and planning. No charge is made for these sessions. Provisional Outline Programme - 9.15 - 9.30 Arrival at Bradley Building, The Ashcombe School (map on school website)
