ALL June Event 2011
Many thanks to so many people who made ALL London’s June Event 2011 such a good
day:
| the French Institute (especially Vincent Gleizes) who provided an elegant,
comfortable and spacious venue, and smiling, helpful support from the
technical and catering team |
| the fantastic speakers who really really inspired us (Rachel Hawkes and
Neil Jones) |
| the generous sponsors who paid for our refreshments (The French
Institute, Sanako, and Vocab Express) |
| the cultural and training exhibitors who gave us ideas and freebies (Spanish
Institute, European Commission, Network for Languages London) |
| and, of-course thanks to the many people (-I counted over 80 at the
frst session!) who attended and created such a lively and friendly
atmosphere. It was so lovely to see such a wide range of people from
all sectors of the language teaching world, and in particular we were
delighted to welcome so many student teachers. (St Mary’s College
especially well represented this year!) |
| Thanks as well to the committee who give up time throughout the year to
plan events, and who turn up early and stay on late to adopt the venue,
welcome people, and generally organise things! |
The key ‘links’ for the day are as follows (and please
let me know of any I miss …)
Later, I shall add links to the films we watched and the ideas given.
KEY DATES FOR YOUR DIARIES:
| Fri & Sat 8th & 9th July 2011 – Language World, Imperial College
London |
| Sat 15th October 2011 – ALL London Social following the London Language

As this is a ‘blog’ (while we re-do the website – and thanks
Nathan Jones who has offered help on this!), rather than add a lot of detail
myself, I’ll invite you to share any positive things you took away from this
day for the benefit of those who could not come!
Looking forward already to the next chance to meet and really hoping that as
many of you as possible can come along to Language World, especially as it is in
London!
Helen Myers, Chair ALL London.
